Jam of the Week

People are always asking me, "Max, what are you listening to?? Give me some new music!!!" With these helpless people in mind, I am starting this new segment: Jam of the Week. Each week i'll present you with a song that I'm particularly enjoying that week.

This week's jam is by neo soul artist Bilal. Bilal is one of the most underrated artists pretty much of all time, as well as one of my favorite. He's got an insane vocal range as well as major songwriting chops, and has collaborated with such artists as Common, Robert Glasper, Talib Kweli, and the late J Dilla. This particular cut, "Something to Hold On To," is the opening track from Bilal's incredible second album, Love 4 Sale. Love 4 Sale, like Q-Tip's Kamaal/The Abstract (which eventually saw an official release), was shelved by his then-label, Interscope, due to its leak online. Dig on this tune and make sure to check out Bilal's new album, Airtight's Revenge, as well as the rest of his discography! Enjoy!

SAM EDIT: Check out Jay Electronia go in over the Nottz-produced beat here.
